Women for Oppressed Women

WOW – Women for Oppressed Women is a ministry of The Chapel that encourages women of all ages to flourish in the church and beyond – equipping them to imitate Christ and empowering them to be missional. Our missional calls thus far have served the poor and oppressed in Africa, Asia, and the Americas through projects that offer life through Jesus Christ and livelihood through special enterprises. Thus far, the Lord has utilized WOW to raise funds exceeding $400,000 for such ventures as:

• Agricultural microenterprises in Mozambique

• A safe house for victims of human trafficking

• A family home and transportation for 25 orphans in Cambodia

• Microbusinesses to provide income to pastors in Mozambique and Vietnam

• A transition home for women coming out of incarceration or opiate addiction

• The provision of clean water in Africa, India, and Mexico

We have chosen our orange and purple color scheme carefully and purposefully. Certainly, we think the colors look great together! In reality, though, a lot of thought went into this color choice. Orange represents the rich dirt that is found all over Mozambique. Since WOW originally began in order to launch an agricultural microenterprise for the poor and oppressed women of that country, this color was a way to keep our eyes on the goal. Today, it is a rich reminder of our roots, as well as a representation of the glory of God Almighty. Purple is the color of royalty, and WOW exists to serve the King of kings! Purple reminds WOW that everything we do is for His glory and by His guidance. Without Him, we can do nothing!
