"By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers." - 1 John 3:16
God's Word shows us that placing our hope in our own abilities will eventually let us down. We need help to find hope that lasts. In His infinite love, Jesus Christ sacrificed everything so that we can have a hope that never ends. In Him, we have an eternal hope.
God designed us for relationship. That longing to belong isn't a flaw; it's how we were built. In community, we find a context for relationship - with Christ and each other. We belong not only to a church but to a family. More than a desire, it's what we were made for.
We seek to become evermore like Christ. The Bible has a word for this - discipleship. As disciples, we aim to reflect Christ, and to serve others in the same way he served us. We practice this collectively in our teaching, training, worship, giving, and service.
The natural result of our joy in God is a desire to share the truth of His goodness, grace, and glory with others. This is how we build God's Kingdom: as we pursue a life of making Jesus known, we disciple and empower others to do the same. We live this out in our community involvement, trips, and partnerships.
