If you are interested in a midweek study, come on out to one of these three classes that we hope grow you in faith, hope and love.
The Freedom of Self Forgetfulness
Teacher: Ed Smith
This class will cover the book “The Freedom of Self Forgetfulness” by Tim Keller. The book will be available to the class at the first meeting.
In an age where pleasing people, puffing up your ego and building your résumé are seen as the methods to 'make it', the Apostle Paul calls us to find true rest in blessed self forgetfulness.
Your Eternal Reward
Teacher: Keith Marlett
This class is based on the book of the same name by Erwin W. Lutzer, however the is book not needed for the class.
To their own detriment, many Christians have emptied the judgment seat of Christ of its meaning, living like they will never meet His knowing gaze. For this they may have tears in heaven. Exploring the often-overlooked Scriptures about reward and judgment for Christians, Dr. Lutzer answers questions like:
How will believers be judged?
Do rewards for faithfulness vary?
If heaven is perfect, why do rewards even matter?
What is sown on earth is reaped in heaven, and Dr. Lutzer’s teachings will have you taking this truth to heart.
Instruments in the Redeemer’s Hands
Teacher: Karl Johnson
(This is the second part of the series that is taught for those interested in becoming Side-By-Side Counseling mentors)
How is it possible to help others and ourselves in the journey of change that God so wisely has us on? You don’t need to start with a strategy or technique, you need a renewed imagination! Only then can you grasp what is real but unseen and live accordingly. The kingdom of God is near, and it takes us far beyond our personal situations and relationships, making ordinary people a part of God’s extraordinary plan for the world. This course shows us how.
This course follows a 10-week plan to help show us how God uses his people as tools of change. Find out how you can be a part of that change in your personal ministry.
