Weekly Friday Night Dinners are served at 6:30pm in The Chapel Dining Room throughout Fall and Spring University of Akron semesters. Come and eat with your friends in a safe place with dinner provided by groups from The Chapel who are mindful of cultural differences and dietary restrictions.

You’ll be part of a 40+-year tradition of sharing diverse cultures with one another and learning about people and customs from all over the world.

Friday Night Dinners are key to creating an international community that knows and cares for one another. They happen every week of the school year, unless we are away on a trip.

american family experience

It’s fun to go to restaurants and tour sites when you’re away from home but, we’ve learned that real culture happens around the dinner table. You’re invited to sit and eat with our families from The Chapel. Akron Internationals wants you to be able to tell your family what it’s like inside of an American home. We want our families to know your stories. So sign up! Let us link you up with a family that can’t wait to meet you.

discover groups

Have questions about the Bible and Jesus? These groups are for you.

Discover Groups happen in homes and around campus on different nights of the week.

What did Jesus say about himself?
What did the prophets say about the Messiah?
What do Christians believe?
Is there a God and can you know Him?
And many more.

There are three set trips each year that connect international students together as a community as they experience new things here in America.

who is invited?

International Students from The University or Akron and ELI. We are so excited to have you on these trips with us!

Join us as we gather international students from Kent State, Cleveland State, and The University of Akron for a weekend that is packed full of fun at Camp Carl. Paint ball, hikes, campfires, horseback riding and more. We want every international student to get away, enjoy the beautiful countryside, and adventure with us!

Early spring semester we get out and enjoy the beauty of winter from inside a warm cabin. There is nothing better than hanging out next to a fire, playing games, and talking about some of life’s hardest questions. Feburary is relationship month in America and our Winter Weekend focuses on how to be ready for relationships.

Have some free time during winter break? Come explore a new American city each winter and ponder things about what Christians believe. This year we are headed to Denver, Colorado.
