membership and baptism
In 1 Corinthians 12, God likens individual believers in Jesus to distinctive parts that together comprise one body. This is an excellent picture of church membership. Every single follower of Jesus all over the world is part of the “universal” body of Christ. Becoming a member of The Chapel is a local expression of the same principle.
“We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” Romans 6:4
The consistent practice of the early Church was that — as people heard the Gospel preached and responded in faith — they confessed that belief publicly by being baptized, and became part of the life of the local body of believers. Baptism is the first step in the journey of following Christ.
If you desire to make your faith public by joining the church, or if you are a current member of The Chapel with a desire to follow the Lord’s command of baptism, we would love to assist you.
