    The Five Solas of the Reformation

    In this class, you will learn the Five "Solas" (Latin for "Alone") of the Reformation:
    Sola Scriptura (Scripture)
    Sola Gratia (Grace)
    Sola Fide (Faith)
    Solus Christus (Christ)
    Soli Deo Gloria (God’s Glory)

    This class will essentially answer the question, "What is the true, biblical gospel of Jesus Christ?"

    See how salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, for the glory of God alone, with all of this being taught by Scripture as our sole, highest authority.

    Learn about the core doctrines of the greatest movement in church history and how they set the human heart free.

    Four-week class on baptism and communion, designed primarily for children ages 6-14. At least one parent MUST attend with their child.

    A biblically-based approach to teaching children, ages 6-10, about safe vs. unsafe situations.

    Children who participate in the workshop will learn about God’s desire for them to be safe from all types of violence, maltreatment, and abuse. Participants will be taught how to identify unsafe people and situations, and they will have the opportunity to practice responding in a safe way by asking for God’s help and confiding in trusted adults.

    A parent is required to attend so that he/she can continue to reinforce the concepts at home.

    Sarah Keene earned her BA in social work and her MEd in school counseling from Malone University, and is a licensed social worker as well as a licensed professional school counselor. She currently serves as a school counselor at Lake Center Christian School.

    Cambodia Outreach

    The next short-term mission trip to India will be Jan. 30 – Feb. 9, 2018.

    This team will teach the Bible to leaders and possibly host a Worship Music Workshop – including writing and recording worship songs.

    Help Out at C.H.A.S.E.

    We have an incredible outreach to children/families at Akron Public schools. C.H.A.S.E., the Chapel after school experience, serves 1st-2nd graders at Leggett Elementary, Tuesday & Thursday 3:15-5:30pm, mid-October through December 2017. We offer tutoring, a Good News Club and other activities. If you are interested in helping, please contact outreach@thechapel.life or 330.315.5511.

    Yellow Bags
    Help feed needy children who attend Leggett and Glover schools in Akron.

    Pick up a yellow bag on the third Sunday of the month. You'll find a list of needed food items inside. Fill the bag and return it on the fourth Sunday of the month.
